GOATS
We can only guess why God differentiates between sheep and goats. While they are both clean animals, God clearly differentiates between sheep and goats. When we look at normal goat behavior, however, we may see some clues why he makes a profound distinction between sheep and goats. The essence of this distinction is that sheep are blessed (i.e. New Covenant) and goats are cursed (i.e. Old/First Covenant).

Perhaps there is something about normal goat behavior that is evident in what Jesus said about how goats treated others. This should be a warning to Old/First Covenant religionists who bite and butt others in cycles of conflict over kingdom territory. This kind of behavior sounds a lot like what goes on in religious organizations. Thus, religious people who like to think of themselves as sheep should think of themselves as goats.
