Sickness, Disease, Blindness, and Deafness

MANY NAMES FOR SPIRITUAL SICKNESS
The Bible uses many natural diseases and sicknesses to describe spiritual sickness (i.e. religion). Here are several that are most notable:

  • Atrophy
  • Baldness.
  • Blindness
  • Boil
  • Consumption
  • Deafness
  • Leprosy
  

  • Demon possession
  • Dumbness
  • Epilepsy
  • Fever
  • Hemorrhage

Why God would use so many different terms to describe spiritual sickness is a mystery. The reason may be, however, that he is just going to great extremes to communicate how he sees the sickening, debilitating effects of religion.
