TWO SETS OF LAWS DESCRIBE SIN DIFFERENTLY
The book of Romans is often quoted in Christianity but it is not well understood. The reason it is not understood is that Christians think that because they believe in Jesus they are New Covenant disciples even though they are really Old/First Covenant religionists. The problem Christians have is that they do not understand the difference between the two covenants. They think that just because they believe in Jesus they enjoy a New Covenant relationship with God. They are wrong. The New Covenant is not a matter of doctrine, it is a matter of the condition of your heart. Christians, like the Jews have stumbled over the law.

The book of Romans has more references to the law than any other book in the Bible. It is impossible to understand without first understanding that there are actually two sets of laws that relate to two covenants.

Romans chapter 7 is one book that has many references to the law and to sin. It is impossible to understand, however, unless you first understand that the Bible references two sets of laws — not just one. The two sets of laws are the Old/First Covenant and the New Covenant. If you don’t know the differences between the two laws, and the two covenants you cannot understand sin.
