THE CREATOR
No discussion about creation would be complete without a discussion of the creator. After all, the essence of the Bible is not about physical creation or history. It is all about how God does his creative work in the hearts and minds of people. That’s it!

The truth is that the potential for training in righteousness exists only in the symbolic interpretations of creation. The truth is that there is no potential for training in righteousness in the literal interpretations of any scripture — including creation. Whether God created the natural world and heaven or not is useless information compared to correction, rebuke and training in righteousness that is accomplished through symbolic interpretation of Genesis. If a scripture does not convict people of sin and turn them from religion, that scripture has not been interpreted correctly.

Those who subscribe to a literal interpretation of creation pride themselves on giving credit to God the the power he has to create the natural heavens and earth. In taking this attitude they shame themselves for failure to recognize him as the God who transforms evil, impure hearts to clean pure hearts. This is a glaring omission since people created in God’s image are his crowning creation and greatest representation of his glory.
